An overview of a KwaZulu-Natal project aimed at engaging the tourism incentive market.
In 2001 Tourism KZN commissioned KPMG to develop a practical strategy for KZN to engage the Incentive Tourism Market. A summary is available in Adobe Acrobat format..
One of the core recommendations of this strategy was to hold a series of workshops in the Province in order to:
1) inform product owners of the concept of incentive tourism and the results of the study
2) brainstorm to begin to develop incentive products in the various regions of KZN.
One of the primary purposes of these workshops and the brainstorm sessions will be to develop a manual for corporates and other large businesses to educate them about the concept of incentive tourism and the incentive options which KwaZulu-Natal can offer.
To this end, four workshops were held in KZN during the early part of October.
The presentation which formed the basis of these workshops is downloadable in Abobe Acrobat format.
