Pleasant Places

Map Reference 219

The boundary lines have fallen for us in Pleasant Places...where tranquility, pace and rest await you, arm omfy accommodation, fluffy pillows, firm soft beds, fresh country fare, homemade with country care...come and share our delightful inheritance. Wander at leisure along country roads and back to hearthside evenings and quality service.

Accommodation comprises four double en-suite bedrooms and a family unit with two en-suite bedrooms; all have tea and coffee making facilities, heaters, and a hair dryer. Television is available in some rooms. Dinners served on request. Services offered include laundry, telephone, fax and email and computer facilities. Special rates for longer stays, groups and pensioners.

In winter, log fires warm the lounge and dining room. Visitors can find a quiet spot in the rambling garden to restore the soul, chill-out on the patio overlooking the Lions River and relax in the evening in the lounge. Guests are requested not to smoke indoors.

Trout fishing at a well-stocked, exquisite dam 4km up the road can be arranged at R60 per rod and you can take two fish. The large number of trees in the garden and the pine forest along the river are alive with numerous species of birds to delight keen bird watchers. Birds are very tame and a variety can be seen while relaxing on the patio.

Sections along the river are suitable for swimming, unless it is in flood. Guests are free to walk around anywhere on the farm and those looking for exercise will find the walk to the river and dam most suited; the drop from the house to the river is approximately 80 meters. For those who enjoy horse ridingthere is a stable close by that offers well-schooled, thoroughbred horses for outrides into the fields and forests. Golfers can arrange a game on the nearby Bosch Hoek Estate Club, known as one the prettiest in the country, or at Sakabula Club outside Howick.
