This year’s theme and hundreds of exhibitors will showcase cutting edge products and expertise that will inspire and excite. Re-invent :-) is about combining elements of old and new; contemporary and traditional; natural and hi-tech; retro and futuristic. It is the contrast of products and design concepts at play with the imagination. It is simply to look at the world differently and re-invent the way we can live in our home and living spaces.

First run in 1921, in memory of the men who had fallen in the Great War, this grueling 88km challenge, held mid-year between Pietermaritzburg and Durban, is recognized as one of the world's great ultra distance events. The start and finish alternate each year, with the finish in 2007 being Durban.

Venue: Sahara Park (Kingsmead)

If a marathon seems daunting, the 10km SPAR Ladies challenge provides less distance but just as much camaraderie. Bigger than the Comrades in entries and support, the race is aimed at women but there are several brave men who enter - and dress for the part! Although it's a serious race with prize money attached, many take the opportunity to enjoy a fun race, dressing up and obtaining sponsorship for charity.
