Originally built by German Trappist Hanks in 1891 as a mission station, ancient red brick building have been restored and converted into a lodge with bed & breakfast as well as self-catering accommodation.
The living quarters of the monks and nuns have been converted into ten individually decorated B&B, guestrooms and three self-catering rooms.
All guestrooms have DSTV Bonquet, tea trays, heaters/fans and private patios opening into gardens. Rates include a full English breakfast
Directions south along the N2 from Durban: N2 South Travel along this freeway from Durban until you get to the R612 off ramp at Park Rynie. Turn right across the bridge onto the R612 and continue along this road for 80 km (total distance ex Park Rynie to Ixopo is 83 km). Approximately 3 km before it intersects with the R56 outside Ixopo, start looking out for the turnoff on the right to Kings Grant. We do have signs up as well. Travel along this dirt road until you reach the turnoff for Kings Grant.
