LEADING TRAVEL EXPERTS CHOOSE KZN’S ISIMANGALISO AS A MUST-VISIT PLACE
KwaZulu-Natal’s World Heritage site iSimangaliso Wetland Park has entrenched itself as a jewel in South Africa’s tourism crown – it is one of 38 trips worldwide that travel experts want you to take.
This is according to September’s issue of authoritative Wanderlust, the United Kingdom’s leading independent travel magazine, which delivers inspiration and advice to travellers seeking unique and enriching travel experiences.
The endorsement of iSimangaliso as a must-visit world destination by leading travel experts who offer ideas, itineraries and practical information to plan your next trip, coincides with Tourism Month this September which has the theme ‘Tourism and Rural Development’.
Tourism KwaZulu-Natal recently hosted radio personalities, Stacey Norman and JSbu Nxumalo on a ‘#KZNHasItAll’ trip as part of the partnership with East Coast Radio, one of the largest regional and commercial radio stations in South Africa.
East Coast Radio presenter, Stacey Norman, said it was an extraordinary experience to have seen a beautiful part of the province of KZN.
“I also felt very safe right from start – I am thankful to Themba, our ‘go to’ guy; Thia, the caretaker at Heritage House; and John, our nature trail tour guide, who all made sure we were sanitized and well taken care of.
“I was new to horse riding and very nervous. However, it became one of my favourite things to do.”
JSbu Nxumalo, also a presenter on East Coast Radio, said: “I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Heritage House – the food was amazing.
“Hippo watching was a favourite for me as it was the first-time, I was seeing hippos up and close. The safari experience was fantastic and John was extremely knowledgeable and a wonderful host.
“Some of the community members gave us a special dance performance which took our breath away. Thank you to the team who coordinated such an amazing trip in the Zulu Kingdom.”
