GARSONS Expeditions, has brought together the best in journeys and safaris that southern Africa has to offer. As a National Operator, GARSONS is able to host guests throughout southern Africa: South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Swaziland, Namibia & Mozambique are all part of our range. These expeditions are run on a private, exclusive basis and journeys are tailor made to each client’s needs. If special interest groups want academic input, botanists, anthropologists and archaeologists can be included. Our objective is to provide guests with detailed and interesting itineraries that reflect, wherever possible, what their desires are rather than set tours. At GARSONS we are proud of our home: Its unparalleled diversity of landscapes, ecological zones, peoples, plant and animal life. South Africa embraces scenery from tropical forest to desert – the open flatlands of the Freestate to the towering Drakensberg Mountains and of course world class beaches and Cape Town’s Table Mountain! South Africa is also rich in World Heritage Sites, history and pre-history: The Cradle of Humankind offers an opportunity to observe recently discovered fossils of our oldest ancestor. Giants Castle offers some of the finest San (Bushman) art, and for History Buffs there are the Battlefields of the Anglo-Zulu War, the Anglo-Boer War and the chance to follow the path of the Great Trek (South Africa’s pioneers: the Voortrekkers). If you are interested in Wildlife, South Africa offers it from Aardvark to Zebra. We can take you to the vastness of Kruger Park, Hluhluwe/iMfolozi, or any of the excellent private game reserves that dot the South African landscape. Culture? We’ve got it covered from Afrikaner to Zulu, all vibrantly presented by Greg Garson whose passionate love for his country comes through with every word. Greg’s specific expertise is in the areas of Zulu history and culture, with a particular leaning towards traditional healers, Bushman stone age rock painting, the Anglo-Zulu and Anglo-Boer wars and, of course, the prolific mammal and birdlife of the region. Greg is ably assisted by various specialist guides who share his deep love of South Africa. While groups of all sizes may be accommodated, GARSONS prefers to work with groups of 20 persons or less, as we feel the “personal touch” is diminished in larger gatherings. For travellers from North America we offer fully escorted service from JFK Airport in New York. Contact our New York office: Melissa Carlin – 845 518-4409, e-mail:
